(1) John Walcott, b. c.1330, d. c.1410 Shalstone, Buckinghamshire; sometimes said, without evidence, to be a son of Richard Walcott, MP of Lincoln; m. Mary Ickford.

(2) Robert Walcott, b.c.1370; leased a large area of pasture land at Shalstone from Luffield Priory acquired by his father in 1403.

(3) John Walcott c.1400-c.1460; inherited land at Shalstone from his father and acquired lease on other half of the land formerly held by John Ickford.

(4) John Walcott, c.1440-c.1490; inherited 3 virgates of land at Shalstone leased by his grandfather from Luffield Priory. Later acquired a large area of pasture land in Water Stratford

In 1522 there was a muster taken of men 16 years and older and the value of their goods or property, in which six Walcotts were recorded in Buckinghamshire. They were: Thomas Walcote of Water Stratford £22; Edm. Walcote of Foscote £6, John Walcote of Stoney Stratford £4/4s; Ric. Walcote of Dadford £4; Wm. Walcote of Water Stratford £2; and John Walcote of Foscote £1. Two years later, in 1524, a Lay Subsudy to fund the War with France was collected. Two Walcotts appear on it; Thomas Walcott of Water Stratford with property valued at £14, and Richard Walcote of Dadford with 4 marks in land. Thomas and Edmund were probably brothers, John, William and Richard probably Thomas' sons, and John of Foscott, Edmund's son.

(5) Thomas Walcott, c.1468-1536, the wealthiest Walcott on the 1522 muster roll at Water Stratford with £22 in goods, and on the 1524 Lay Subsidy with £14 in goods. In 1522 he was executor of the will of Robert Skylman of Water Stratford. With John Baker andThomas Nichols he leased land at Padbury in 1524, which he and Thomas Nicholds sold in 1525. He and his brother-in-law, William Eyre, held most of the land at Water Stratford. The will of Thomas Walcote of Water Stratford, Bucks., husbandman, proved in 1536, mentions his children Richard, Elaine, and Nicholas, and was witnessed by John Walcote and others; m. Margaret Eyre c.1490.

(6) John Walcott, b. c.1490 Water Stratford, d. c.1560; an adult at Stoney Stratford on 1522 muster roll and a blacksmith at Stoney Stratford, a town 13 miles east of Water Stratford in 1533; taxed at Water Stratford in 1542 and 1558, and at in Tingewick 1558; named in the 1544 will of brother, Richard Walcott, as overseer of Richard's two children, and receiving a cow and clothing , and each of his children receiving a lamb. About 1540, Ed. Webbe took to court John Walcote and Alice his wife to court for detetention of deeds relating to a messuage and land in Stony Stratford formerly of Richard Langeley; m. Alice _____.

(7) Richard Walcott, b. c.1510 Stoney Stratford, d. 1557 Tingewick; listed as billman on 1535 Buckinghamshire muster list. The will of Richard Walcot of Tingewick, dated 1557, gives his daughter, Catherine a heifer and 11s; to his 5 youngest unnamed children all his sheep, remainder to his six children divided equally, son Hugh to have remainder of lease on his house and be his executor, with Jone and William Walcott as witnesses. Three of his younger children unnamed; m. Elizabeth Purefoy of Shalstone.

(13) Louisa Eleanor Walcott, b. 1802 Alverstoke. This might be the Louisa Walcott who ran a pub called the London Tavern at Portsmouth. She reportedly dropped coins into her unwary customers' tankards. Traditionally, once they drank, they had taken the King's shilling and were recruited into the Navy. According to some reports, she recruited 26,572 men into the Navy that way.

(12) Rev. John Bolton, son of Robert and Mary Walcot, b. 1794 London, d. 1873 Isle of Wight. He lived at the small village of Ludgershall, near Andover, Hampshire. He had a large family. He and his wife and brother-in-law gleaned the fields to get flour to support his family. Mr. Cook of Castle farm and others arranged for him to collect and sell flour to the poor. He also sold draperies and groceries. He was sent by the church at Andover to be the first Independent minister at Ludgershall in 1817 and was the first Baptist minister at Ludgershall in 1818. He was there in 1836 when he signed for a meeting house at Kimpton, Hampshire, and retired in 1841; m. Eliza Carter c. 1815.

(19) Sir Clyde Leopold Walcott, b 1926 Bridgetown, St. Michael, Barbados; educated at Combermere School and, from the age of 14, at Harrison College in Barbados. He took up wicket-keeping at Harrison College and also learned to bowl inswingers. He grew up to become one of the famed 'Three W's' along with Frank Worrell and Everton Weekes, all of whom were outstanding Barbadian batsmen who joined the West Indies cricket team in 1948; the first batsman to score five centuries in a single test series. Walcott also shares the highest West Indian first-class partnership for any wicket: an unbeaten 574 for the fourth wicket with Frank Worrell for Barbados against Trinidad in 1945 /1946. In the early part of his career, Walcott also kept wicket for his country. Walcott retired from test cricket in 1960, and in 1992 became a match referee. He was elected chairman of the International Cricket Council in 1993, and in the following year, the Queen knighted him Sir Clyde for his services to cricket; Muriel Ashby 1951. They had two sons together. His brother, Keith Walcott, and a son, Michael Walcott, both played first-class cricket for Barbados. was a star cricket player. He lived in British Guyana 1954-1970 where he was captain of the national team. He was knighted in 1993.
